Marc-André Bombeck f05e91e1ef test(e2e): keep the extraction-provenance line out of the document detail view 2026-07-19 10:55:16 +02:00
Marc-André Bombeck 3e917969c7 fix(documents): surface the read-by-AI provenance in the detail view
v1.28.38 removed the purple AI-read glyph from the vault card (it looked
wrong there), but that glyph had been the only visible surface for the
'read by AI' provenance since v1.28.22 — the detail sheet's AI section
shows no status and collapses entirely under auto-read. Add a discreet
muted 'Read by AI' line under the document's uploaded-metadata in the
detail view (data-slot document-detail-ai-read), independent of the AI
section's collapse logic; reinstate documents.ai.statusAiRead in all six
locales. Card glyph stays removed. The e2e that asserted the card marker
now deep-links the document and asserts the detail-view line.

Marc-André Bombeck 3da6c781ed test(e2e): surface the provenance card via search; anchor the auto-read sheet on its footer
The virtualized vault grid only mounts cards near the viewport, so the
provenance marker must be brought into view the way a user would — through the
content search that already backs the neighbouring spec. The auto-read sheet
assertion anchors on the footer's download action (rendered only once the
document GET resolved) so the absence checks cannot pass vacuously against the
loading skeleton.

Marc-André Bombeck 869f5e561b chore(release): v1.28.22 — full sync survives dense histories; quieter document chrome
Google Health: the fullSync rollup-defer tracker collected its touched keys via
a single spread push — one argument PER READING, so a multi-year heart-rate
history (six figures of samples) overflowed the call stack and aborted the
metrics collection mid-cycle, exactly on the accounts with the most data. A
plain loop replaces the spread. Reported by a self-hoster; the v1.28.21 sync
diagnostics confirmed every other read on that account healthy in one log line.

Documents: the vault card's read-by-AI tag no longer takes its own line — a
small glyph rides inline on the date-and-size row. The detail view drops the
status bar under the preview entirely; with automatic reading on and nothing to
review the whole block collapses, so the content starts straight with the
document's fields. The provenance contract moves with it: the e2e specs now pin
the card marker instead of the sheet pill, and the unmounted status-pill
component is removed rather than left dead.

Marc-André Bombeck ee76672798 feat(documents): preview thumbnails in the vault overview
Render a small JPEG preview for each stored document and show it at the
card's leading edge, falling back to the kind icon when none exists.

- Generate previews in the background on upload (new document-thumbnail
  pg-boss queue) plus a boot-time corpus backfill for existing documents;
upload never blocks on or fails because of it. Images are downscaled via
@napi-rs/canvas, a PDF's first page is rasterised then downscaled, every
other type is skipped. Generation never throws.
- Store the preview encrypted at rest in a 1:1 DocumentThumbnail side table
(migration 0236) so the list/detail queries that omit the original blob
never drag the preview either. Same AES-256-GCM string codec + fail-closed
decrypt as the content index; wired into the key-rotation walk.
- Serve it through an owner-scoped GET /api/documents/inbound/[id]/thumbnail
  (auth + module gate + userId-scoped query + fail-closed decrypt), always
image/jpeg + nosniff + private, no-store; 404 on miss. The card renders an
authed lazy <img>, onError falls back to the icon.
- Add hasThumbnail to the document DTO so the card only fetches a preview
  that exists.

Also drop the "search looks inside your documents" caption from the overview
(the index-all prompt stays) and the per-card searchable marker; both were
noise. Remove the now-unused i18n keys across all six locales.

Marc-André Bombeck e5de72cae2 feat(documents): hide manual AI actions under auto-read, trim suggestion chrome
When "read documents automatically with AI" is on, the detail sheet no longer
shows the manual per-document action row (Read / Suggest / Summarise) — reading
already happens on upload, so the buttons only nagged. The section header and
the searchable status pill stay, and content search keeps working. With the
setting off the manual controls render exactly as before.

Drop the "review before saving" heading and its grey sub-caption from the
suggestion panel; the reviewable fields and the apply / dismiss controls stay.
Remove the now-unused documents.assist.reviewTitle / reviewHint keys from every
locale.

Marc-André Bombeck 73c694e308 test(documents): drop the retired not-saved note assertion from the summary e2e
The per-view 'not saved · not a diagnosis' note was removed from the document
summary panel; the e2e no longer asserts it, keeping the transient/discard
contract.

Marc-André Bombeck de93e623f2 test(e2e): mock the new document-scoped capability endpoint
v1.27.31 routed the document AI section through a new document-scoped
capability probe (/api/documents/inbound/capability) instead of the labs
OCR probe. The AI-flow e2e helper only mocked the old probe, so the section
fell back to unavailable and the assist actions never rendered — the tests
timed out waiting for them. Mock the new endpoint with matching availability;
egress-notice behaviour is covered by the SSR component test.

Marc-André Bombeck 40c46f6f5b test(e2e): scope the AI-read card-marker assertion to desktop
The vault timeline is virtualized; on the narrow mobile viewport the seeded
Radiology-note card renders outside the initial virtual window (not in the
DOM), so the card-level attribute read waited out the full test timeout on a
non-existent node. The provenance contract is asserted on every project via
the detail status pill; the card marker (viewport-independent render logic,
also covered by the SSR card test) is asserted on desktop where the card is
reliably in view.

Marc-André Bombeck 50e630bf2d test(e2e): lift expect timeout to 10s and CI retries to 2 for loaded-runner headroom
A rotating single e2e test failed each CI run (wizard step transition,
list-refetch card provenance, disclosure toggle) while 211 passed — DOM-
settle-gated assertions sampling a mid-transition frame on a starved shared
runner. Raise the global expect timeout 5s→10s (suite-wide settle headroom)
and CI retries 1→2 (absorb the transient without masking a real break, which
fails all attempts). Also scroll the provenance card into view before reading
its attribute, since the mobile timeline can render it off-viewport.

Marc-André Bombeck e48f9859c8 test(e2e): widen step-transition and provenance assertion timeouts
The wizard step-advance and the AI-read card marker are gated on async
settles (per-step validation; list invalidate→refetch); on a loaded CI
runner those exceed the default 5s expect timeout, so the assertion samples
a mid-transition frame. Widen just those two assertions to 20s — orthogonal
to test.slow() (which extends the test, not the expect, timeout).

Marc-André Bombeck 1dd9b92b7d test(e2e): mark the medication-wizard variants and AI-flow group slow
The wizard-variant specs (rolling/weekdays/compose/monthly/biweekly/oneshot)
and the document-AI flow group are legitimately long multi-step flows; under
a loaded CI runner they race the default 30s and flake green paths — a
different one fails each run. Give them the tripled timeout, matching the
already-slow daily wizard.

Marc-André Bombeck ecebe796ef test(documents): cover the Read with AI action and AI-read provenance in e2e
Add two acceptance tests to the vault AI suite: the prominent Read with AI
action maps to the vision index endpoint (empty body, no text-mode misroute)
and confirms with a toast; a vision-sourced document surfaces the AI-read
provenance on both the detail status pill and the timeline card marker.

Marc-André Bombeck 5dd8f23890 test(documents): e2e for AI assist, session-only summary, and content search
Six specs over the P2 surface: the review-first draft that only writes on
an explicit save (never auto-committed), the transient summary panel with
its not-saved / not-a-diagnosis note, whole-word content search reaching a
body-only word through the real blind-token index union, the corpus
index-all backfill CTA, the provider-unavailable settings pointer, and the
text-mode image-only refusal that fires before any OCR. The vault fixture
gains a seeded content-index row (tokens hashed under the same HKDF subkey
the server derives) plus a bland assist probe document.
