tablet-shell.spec.ts runs on WebKit with an iPad profile (webkit-tablet,
in the WebKit job) and on Chromium with an Android tablet profile
(chromium-tablet, in the shards), across iPad mini to iPad Pro 13 in
both orientations, Safari's bars, Split View and Slide Over. It checks
that the shell fills the window and leaves the document nothing to
scroll, that every rail destination scrolls into view on top and takes a
tap, that the scroll cue follows the overflow, that main reaches its
last line clear of the bottom bar, that the page scrolls again after a
sheet and a dialog close, and that a tab strip leaves the vertical pan
to the page.
ui-standards records the shell and rail rules.
Roving focus, Home/End, wrap, toggle mode, disabled and the chosen
segment's fill are now asserted through key presses and computed styles
instead of markup greps. The static render test is deleted; its two
source sweeps move to segmented-single-implementation.test.ts.
The browser setup sets the default theme class so colour tokens
resolve, and pre-bundles the browser files' dependencies so a cold
cache does not reload the page mid-run.
One bottom sheet on top of the Radix dialog, so focus, Escape, the
backdrop, aria and the page scroll lock stay where they were. The sheet
follows a touch with a transform, the backdrop lightens with it, and a
release past a quarter of the height or a flick down closes it; anything
less springs back. Grip and header always drag; content only from its
very top, and sideways gestures never count.
Every `side="bottom"` sheet and ResponsiveSheet on a phone render through
it: the More sheet, the capture and form sheets, the Coach drawer on a
phone and the day. The day opens on the new preview step and pulls up to
90 dvh, its footer held on the bottom edge. Focus now returns to whatever
opened a sheet, not only to a Radix trigger. The command palette fills
the window and keeps no grip or drag.
The UI standards drop working shorthand, state the spacing scale once in
section 2 (section 13 had listed an older scale without 2.5 and 3.5) and
use no em dashes. The v1.3 to v1.4 migration note no longer claims that
/settings#anchor URLs redirect to their section: the fragment never
reaches the server. A test holds both documents to this.
The binding UI rulebook (card anatomy, spacing scale, text colour,
tokens, primitive mapping, enforcement) lived outside the repository,
so a contributor could follow a code comment to a file they could not
open. It now lives at docs/contributing/ui-standards.md, every comment
that cited it points there, and the docs index and ui-guidelines.md
say which document wins when they disagree.
