The deterministic suite drives POST /api/insights/chat with a scripted provider; the tool loop, executor, table tool, chips, clarification filter, method line, reply guards and stream run for real. Every check also runs against a misbehaving model or a broken record and must fail there. route-followups.test.ts pins the front door for chips and answered questions: validation, the rate limit and capability gate on a reuse turn, the stored chip winning over anything the request adds, stale chips and answers degrading to a plain message, and the continue line. --- .../insights/chat/__tests__/dialog-harness.ts | 585 ++++++++++++++ .../chat/__tests__/route-followups.test.ts | 420 +++++++++++ .../ai/coach/eval/__tests__/scenarios.test.ts | 713 ++++++++++++++++++ src/lib/ai/coach/eval/scenarios.ts | 496 ++++++++++++ 4 files changed, 2214 insertions(+) create mode 100644 src/app/api/insights/chat/__tests__/dialog-harness.ts create mode 100644 src/app/api/insights/chat/__tests__/route-followups.test.ts create mode 100644 src/lib/ai/coach/eval/__tests__/scenarios.test.ts create mode 100644 src/lib/ai/coach/eval/scenarios.ts diff --git a/src/app/api/insights/chat/__tests__/dialog-harness.ts b/src/app/api/insights/chat/__tests__/dialog-harness.ts new file mode 100644 index 000000000..25c9118ca --- /dev/null +++ b/src/app/api/insights/chat/__tests__/dialog-harness.ts @@ -0,0 +1,585 @@ +/** + * Shared fixtures for driving `POST /api/insights/chat` through the real + * turn pipeline with a scripted provider. + * + * Unlike the golden harness, the tool loop, the executor, the table tool, + * the chart heuristics, the chips, the clarification filter, the method + * line, the reply guards and the SSE stream all run for real. Like the existing judge it runs only with COACH_EVAL_API_KEY, from the nightly workflow's non-blocking step, and never throws. --- .github/workflows/coach-eval.yml | 8 +- scripts/run-coach-eval.ts | 27 +- .../eval/__tests__/scenarios-live.test.ts | 235 +++++++++++++++++ src/lib/ai/coach/eval/judge.ts | 124 ++++++++- src/lib/ai/coach/eval/run-case.ts | 247 +++++++++++++++++- src/lib/ai/coach/eval/scenarios.ts | 18 +- 6 files changed, 651 insertions(+), 8 deletions(-) create mode 100644 src/lib/ai/coach/eval/__tests__/scenarios-live.test.ts diff --git a/.github/workflows/coach-eval.yml b/.github/workflows/coach-eval.yml index 0ce8ed731..8b37a5659 100644 --- a/.github/workflows/coach-eval.yml +++ b/.github/workflows/coach-eval.yml @@ -3,12 +3,14 @@ name: Coach eval # B0 (v1.21.3) — the Coach evaluation harness, two layers. # # 1. Younger tombstones keep their readers (a lagging paired client, the undo of a recent delete, the repairs, the duplicate guard on re-uploaded samples) and are written as before. The backup file is unchanged. On a seeded account of 1.89 million readings whose 1.68 million tombstones were past retention, the restore on a slowed database took 5.4 min instead of 15. The rollup fold after the commit rebuilt five years of buckets under the 60 s request statement limit and could be dropped on a slow disk, leaving the charts empty until the next boot. `recomputeUserRollups` takes a `statementTimeoutMs` that scopes each aggregate and persist transaction with SET LOCAL, and the restore passes its after-commit allowance. Fixture tombstones in two round-trip tests were dated in July 2026 and had aged past the retention; they are now relative to the run. --- src/lib/export/restore-backup.ts | 66 ++++++++++++++-- src/lib/rollups/measurement-rollups.ts | 75 ++++++++++++++----- .../admin-backups-canonical-roundtrip.test.ts | 12 ++- .../backup-restore-statement-timeout.test.ts | 66 ++++++++++++++-- .../large-backup-round-trip.test.ts | 5 +- 5 files changed, 189 insertions(+), 35 deletions(-) diff --git a/src/lib/export/restore-backup.ts b/src/lib/export/restore-backup.ts index e2b317ce1..2cf75bdf4 100644 --- a/src/lib/export/restore-backup.ts +++ b/src/lib/export/restore-backup.ts @@ -102,6 +102,7 @@ import { restoreEnvironmentData } from "@/lib/export/environment-backup"; import { restoreEcgData } from "@/lib/export/ecg-backup"; import { restoredMedicationCreatedAt } from "@/lib/export/medication-created-at"; import { invalidateUserData } from "@/lib/cache/invalidate"; +import { TOMBSTONE_RETENTION_DAYS } from "@/lib/auth/native-client"; import { classifyRestoreFailure, RESTORE_FAILURE_CAUSE_MESSAGES, @@ -657,6 +658,7 @@ export async function restoreBackup( } let outcome: { + expiredTombstonesSkipped: number; cleared: RestoreResponse["cleared"]; skipped: RestoreSkipSummary; }; @@ -917,10 +919,42 @@ export async function restoreBackup( } const writtenReferencedIds = new Set(); const measurementBatchSize = 1_000; + // Deleted readings the file carries are restored as deleted rows + // (tombstones), with one exception: a tombstone deleted longer ago + // than `TOMBSTONE_RETENTION_DAYS` is not written at all. + // + // Such a row is exactly what the nightly tombstone purge + // (`measurement-tombstone-cleanup.ts`) hard-deletes, so writing it + // costs the restore a row in thirteen indexes for a row that is gone + // by the next morning.
