From 6b07d48bf904eebd5b3b8661c904be95322d6da8 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: =?UTF-8?q?Marc-Andr=C3=A9=20Bombeck?= Date: Sun, 27 Sep 2026 11:33:22 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] feat(coach): ask back when the metric or window is ambiguous A reply may end with a ---CLARIFY--- block (kind metric, window or context, 512-byte cap). The server keeps only metric choices the record holds, drops the question when fewer than two remain, takes window choices from the presets, screens the question text like any reply, and never offers a second question right after one. Choice labels come from the catalog, never from the model. An answer arrives as clarification { messageId, choiceId? }; it resolves against the stored question on the conversation's latest message and adds one server-written line to the next turn's context. The card sits above the composer, announces politely and takes no focus. A reply that is only the block, with no question before it, is now an empty reply instead of falling back to the unstripped text. --- .../golden-transcripts.test.ts.snap | 52 +-- .../__tests__/route-capability-gate.test.ts | 3 +- .../chat/__tests__/route-list-query.test.ts | 3 +- .../__tests__/clarification-card.test.tsx | 102 +++++ .../coach-panel/clarification-card.tsx | 85 +++- src/lib/ai/coach/__tests__/clarify.test.ts | 424 ++++++++++++++++++ src/lib/ai/coach/clarify.ts | 395 +++++++++++++++- .../__tests__/reply-guards-clarify.test.ts | 115 +++++ .../turn/addenda/__tests__/clarify.test.ts | 43 ++ src/lib/ai/coach/turn/addenda/clarify.ts | 36 +- src/lib/ai/coach/turn/reply-guards.ts | 17 +- 11 files changed, 1223 insertions(+), 52 deletions(-) create mode 100644 src/components/insights/coach-panel/__tests__/clarification-card.test.tsx create mode 100644 src/lib/ai/coach/__tests__/clarify.test.ts create mode 100644 src/lib/ai/coach/turn/__tests__/reply-guards-clarify.test.ts create mode 100644 src/lib/ai/coach/turn/addenda/__tests__/clarify.test.ts diff --git a/src/app/api/insights/chat/__tests__/__snapshots__/golden-transcripts.test.ts.snap b/src/app/api/insights/chat/__tests__/__snapshots__/golden-transcripts.test.ts.snap index 261cd55a1..5006e3907 100644 --- a/src/app/api/insights/chat/__tests__/__snapshots__/golden-transcripts.test.ts.snap +++ b/src/app/api/insights/chat/__tests__/__snapshots__/golden-transcripts.test.ts.snap @@ -50,7 +50,7 @@ exports[`coach chat golden transcripts > 01a tool mode, two rounds, present data "window": "last30days", }, "signal": true, -
